You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity.

Two Things:
- Deadspin's headline is great.
- Most of the money spent in this “scandal” is so that kids could eat something other than cafeteria food. It shows how ridiculous the NCAA rules are sometimes.
Jimmy Palmiotti provides some context on the Harley Quinn script controversy:
I should have put it clearly in the description that it was supposed to be a dream sequence with Amanda and I talking to Harley and giving her a hard time. I should have also mentioned we were thinking a Mad magazine /Looney Tunes approach was what we were looking for. We thought it was obvious with the whale and chicken suit, and so on, but learned it was not.
Script controversy aside, I am glad to hear that Palmiotti and Amanda Connor intend to use the “Looney Tunes”-style Harley again.1

Instead of whatever the heck Harley has been in the New 52 up to this point. ↩
Mike Oz writing at *Yahoo*:
> These things can be debated:
> Whether Cabrera mouthed off enough to warrant an ejection … in the first inning of the game. Talk about a short leash.
Actually, that *cannot* be debated. Cabrera is one the league’s best players, and it is unthinkable that Gorman ejected him. The only thing that can be debated about this matter is whether Brian Gorman should be suspended from MLB for life or just the rest of the season.
It’s good to see my university excelling both in the classroom and on the field. It makes me proud to wear my orange.
Tim Britton writing about the changes Will Middlebrooks has made to his approach at the plate:
> The first step toward Middlebrooks’ overhaul was literally a small one: moving his left foot a step closer to the plate as he awaited a pitch. Previously, Middlebrooks had an open stance that he would close as the pitch came in. He would get into trouble sometimes when the stance would remain more open, causing him to pull off the ball.
It seems that the change is [really paying off](http://www.overthemonster.com/2013/9/9/4710996/will-middlbrooks-red-sox-resurgence).[^fn1]
[^fn1]: Evan Drelich over at MassLive also [wrote about Will’s recent successes.](http://www.masslive.com/redsox/index.ssf/2013/09/red_sox_cant_finish_off_yankee.html).
Now this is my Harley.
Patriots hold off the Bills in Opener
I figure a Patriots win is a good way to test my new Editorial posting workflow.
As a Clemson fan, I love this.
WDW Marriage Proposals
Since my fiancé loves both the beach and Disney, I proposed on the beach in front of the Beach Club.
> Jimmy Palmiotti stated that she will break the fourth wall, and will address the shortcomings of the different artists drawing her in her Zero issue, and Amanda Conner for putting her in all the situations, which will incorporate that oh-so-controversial fan tryout page. But that’s issue zero, issue one will take a different tack. Just as insane, but in a different fashion.
I am glad this is only going to take place in the Zero issue.
> “I really showed myself today that I can play in that [bench] role, so today was pretty huge,” Bogaerts said. “Until today, I wasn’t sharp at all. I just went back to my leg kick, and I got some new bats. It’s a credit to the bat.”
This game showed why Bogaerts was such a highly rated prospect. It was really fun to watch him shine.
> “He’s in a great place right now,” said Sox manager John Farrell. “I think periodic rest has helped that. Not only the home runs with people on base, but [also] the big one late in the game to give us a four run lead again. This is almost reminiscent to the April that he had coming out of spring training. He’s obviously a major threat in the lineup.”
# I hope Napoli can keep this up until the Sox clinch the division[^f5616].
[^f5616]: Of course, it would be nice if he did it into the playoffs too.
ACC enjoys big wins to start season
> The league made a statement in Week 1 with Clemson beating Georgia, vaulting the Tigers to No. 4 in the rankings. Another win against a marquee team would send ACC officials dancing from press box tables. Especially a win from Miami — a program that has underwhelmed despite the expectation it would enhance the league’s reputation when it joined in 2004.
Miami got its win today.[^f3916]
[^f3916]: Even if it feels like Florida was highly over-ranked at 12.
I hope this is true, and not just *Bleeding Cool* trying to get the Carol Corps. excited.
I am one of the people who got the “substantial increase” notifications.[^fn1] I am not at all surprised, since I have thought this law was a disaster from the start.
[^fn1]: As, I am sure, a number of young, healthy professionals did. Which, of course, makes it all the more ridiculous that they threw their support behind Obama in the election.
I like this, in concept, but I think the execution is a little bit lacking. Something just seems off.
Federico has a new iBook on [writing with Editorial on the iPad](https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/writing-on-ipad-text-automation/id697865620?mt=11)[^f4101]. As someone who has completely moved my iPad writing workflow over to [Editorial](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/editorial/id673907758?mt=8&at=10l5TL), I was pleased to find some new tricks that help make the app even *more* powerful.
For $2.99, this book is a no-brainer for anyone who uses [Editorial](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/editorial/id673907758?mt=8&at=10l5TL)[^fn1], as well as anyone who wants to help support Federico and the great work that he does.
[^f4101]: Affiliate Link (as is the original post link, and the *Editorial* link.)
[^fn1]: Seriously, it is worth the $2.99 for the Feed Wrangler workflow alone.
Lame. I really liked the old Royal Flush gang.
Changing over Wetzel’s Pretzels to a Starbucks is a good upgrade in my book.
