Winning national titles gets you paid.
It’s almost time!
Very smart, guys. Well done.
I probably would have gone to a game or two if this were around when I was there.
I love it.
No surprise here. Deshaun has been great for years.
Though [I’m still basking in the glow of Clemson’s national title victory](http://ropedrop.net/2017/01/congratulations-to-the-national-champion-clemson-tigers/)), [Clemson’s 2017 schedule has been released](http://www.shakinthesouthland.com/2017/1/24/14371280/2017-clemson-football-schedule-released). After a warm-up on September 2nd against Kent State, Clemson’s welcomes Auburn on September 9th (which should give us a good idea of the 2017 Tigers).
Clemon’s ACC opener comes next and its [against Louisville on September 16](http://sports.yahoo.com/news/clemson-begins-acc-title-defense-with-trip-to-louisville-191958381.html). This is kind of a bummer since it doesn’t give Clemson much time to adjust to life without Deshuan Watson. (As a side note, [Louisville plays Carolina the week before](http://www.tarheelblog.com/2017/1/24/14373052/unc-football-2017-schedule-tar-heels-louisville-notre-dame).)
Major remaining games include at Virginia Tech on September 30, home against Florida State on November 11, and at South Carolina on November 25th.
Should be an interesting year.
Make this season count, then.
I still can’t believe this game ended like it did. At least Clemson came out with the W.
Huge bummer. I hope he’s back for FSU.
As he should.
No pressure or anything.
I think this was the right move. Good job, Clemson.
Part of me likes the idea that you can get students who *really* want to go to football games to pay a little extra for better seats, but I feel like IPTAY already allowed that. Ultimately, not charging students to go to the games was a nice touch and I hope it stays that way.
This doesn’t take away the sting of the national title game loss, but it’s nice the basketball team isn’t going to be dead last in the conference.
The second *was* pretty fun to watch.
In case you need one more reason to root for Dabo.
As this play was developing I screamed “I can’t believe this is happening again.” After the pass was completed, however, the whole feeling of the game changed.
Oklahoma talked *a lot* before this game, so I quite enjoyed watching Clemson thump them. That said, I don’t think there is going to be a lot of talk from Alabama before the title game.
> Clemson’s main goal is going to be stopping Henry, which is what Michigan State tried to do, but in doing so, it’s also going to have to put pressure on Coker. The Tigers actually executed this feat well against the Oklahoma offensive line. Clemson got a ton of pressure on Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield and sacked him five times. Mayfield, who has been an additional rushing threat for the Sooners at times this season, finished with 10 carries for minus-15 yards.
The previews of the game are already starting, and this one sounds about right.
