Speaking of *Lucha Underground*, here’s [an excellent recap](http://wallsofjerichoholic.blogspot.com/2015/07/not-just-another-promotion-looking-back.html) from Baba T over at *The Wrestling Blog*. I especially like this point about what *Lucha Underground* did so well:
> Fuck reality, but don’t screw with the internal logic of your show. Create your own rules but don’t randomly abandon them in the middle without warning. LU has done all of this really well. On the other hand (sigh), you have reality era in WWE. WWE tries to be as “real” as possible: women can’t wrestle men because they are not strong enough, not too much flippy stuff because it doesn’t feel like the right psychology etc etc. Ok, so arbitrary limitations on your soap opera in tights show with Irish Whips and perfectly co-ordinated back body drops, cool, fine, accepted, your show, your story. But then none of these real men and women go and behave remotely like anybody we can relate to.
The story telling (both inside the ring and out) was what really set *Lucha Underground* apart. I really will miss it if it goes away.
These next 3 weeks are going to be amazing. If it’s the last of *Lucha Underground*, than it will be going out with a major bang. (That said, I still will be super bummed if it’s the end.)

Why Card Position in WWE Is Important

He went from wining and dining with kings and queens to eating pork and beans in the back alley in terms of his importance to the narrative, at least seemingly he has.
That’s exactly how I feel about the whole thing. Yes, I know Owens will be fine as far as “providing for his family”, but I want to see him wrestle.
TH’s take about Bryan changing his style, *if* he’s able to come back, sounds like a good approach to me.

Didn’t this same set of rumors about a “top level” Smackdown show circulate earlier this year? I guess this will go in the “I’ll believe it when I see it” file.

I assume / hope this is garbage. Unfortunately, it feels too much like something that would be true about the WWE for me to just disregard it.
I would have been find with the original plan. I *really* hope they continue to give Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky a chance to shine.
I’m glad to see that radio “interview” yesterday was taken out of context (as expected.)

A brief Paige and AJ Reunion
I miss AJ.

Kevin Owens is the best. *The Best*.
I’m always impressed at how big of a star The Rock is.
It’s surprising how many “good moves” by the WWE turn out to be flukes or accidents.
> It goes without saying that Chris was over in the WWE from the start—however—what many people don’t know is that when Ed Ferrara and myself wrote our last WWE show, which was delivered to Vince before we made the decision to go to WCW, we had Jericho defeating “The Rock” in the middle 1-2-3, which Ed and I felt would have almost immediately brought Jericho to a new level, without hurting “The Rock” in doing the job. Unfortunately, once we said our goodbyes to Vince, the finish of the match was changed and Rock beat Chris Jericho. For there, I felt that it took the WWE much longer to get Jericho to that next level–compared to if he would have beaten Rock that night.
Jericho was always my favorite wrestler, despite never getting the super push that I thought he deserved. It’s always disappointing to hear a story like this that Vince McMahon made (what I consider) is a dumb decision that negatively impacted such a great talent’s career. (I say “negatively impacted” despite Jericho still being super successful. I just think he could have been one of the best of all time.)

Cesaro’s Proof of Life
> If this beginning of a push for Cesaro doesn’t take hold, it won’t be because he’s not worthy. It’ll be another failure in the vision of McMahon, showing that it’s he, not his fans, his roster, or his consiglieres, that is out of touch. Cesaro has done everything short of throttling his big boss to get himself a spot at the table.
Cesaro’s lack of push has been a crime for awhile now. This should be the start of something big, and it will be a shame if it is not.
