WWE’s ‘The Beast In The East’ Special Came Together On A Fluke And Was Driven By People Power

It’s surprising how many “good moves” by the WWE turn out to be flukes or accidents.

Vince Russo Talks Original Plans For Chris Jericho’s WWE Debut

> It goes without saying that Chris was over in the WWE from the start—however—what many people don’t know is that when Ed Ferrara and myself wrote our last WWE show, which was delivered to Vince before we made the decision to go to WCW, we had Jericho defeating “The Rock” in the middle 1-2-3, which Ed and I felt would have almost immediately brought Jericho to a new level, without hurting “The Rock” in doing the job. Unfortunately, once we said our goodbyes to Vince, the finish of the match was changed and Rock beat Chris Jericho. For there, I felt that it took the WWE much longer to get Jericho to that next level–compared to if he would have beaten Rock that night.

Jericho was always my favorite wrestler, despite never getting the super push that I thought he deserved. It’s always disappointing to hear a story like this that Vince McMahon made (what I consider) is a dumb decision that negatively impacted such a great talent’s career. (I say “negatively impacted” despite Jericho still being super successful. I just think he could have been one of the best of all time.)

Cesaro’s Proof of Life

> If this beginning of a push for Cesaro doesn’t take hold, it won’t be because he’s not worthy. It’ll be another failure in the vision of McMahon, showing that it’s he, not his fans, his roster, or his consiglieres, that is out of touch. Cesaro has done everything short of throttling his big boss to get himself a spot at the table.

Cesaro’s lack of push has been a crime for awhile now. This should be the start of something big, and it will be a shame if it is not.

Vince McMahon Is Set On Six Matches For WrestleMania 32, And Daniel Bryan Isn’t In The Plans

Get Ready For Owens vs. Bálor (Part Two), Live From Japan On WWE Network

It feels like WWE wants to get the belt off Owens since he’ll be moving up to RAW full-time, but they aren’t ready for complete live NXT special to do it. I am fine with this.

Sami Zayn To Be Out Until October Due To Shoulder Injury

Bummer. I guess it’s good that he’s going to be back in 2015, but it still sucks he’s going to be gone so long. I hope this means that Fin Bailor is going to get a nice NXT push while Kevin Owens moves on to the “big leagues.”

Kevin Owens Has Signed A WWE Main Roster Contract, Will Continue To Support His Family

I guess I’m glad we’ll get to see Kevin Owens on RAW every week, but I am worried that–even though he’s been awesome on RAW so far–that once he’s actually on the main roster, he’s going to be mishandled.

Triple H And Stephanie McMahon Want To Change How Women Are Featured In WWE In A Big Way

How can you watch last night’s amazing match between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks and *not* think that a women’s match could headline a WWE PPV? (And, if you haven’t seen the match from last night, take advantage of the WWE Network being free this month and give it a look.)

17 Years Later, Chris Jericho Finally Tried To Finish Reading His List Of 1,004 Holds

A nice little follow-up to a classic Jericho segment from “long ago” (1998).

Jericho was Daniel Bryan to me, before Daniel Bryan (or Bryan Danielson) existed. He was the amazing in-ring wrestler, who I always wished had gotten a bigger push. Unfortunately, (for me) Jericho had other interests, and ended up starting a part-time, on-again, off-again, schedule with the WWE. Seeing what is happening to Bryan and his health, however, it looks like Jericho made the right choice.

Elimination Chamber Set At WWE Network Exclusive Show On 5/31

Daniel Bryan’s Emotional Speech From Raw About The Intercontinental Title And His Future

This whole thing makes me so sad. The end of Wrestlemania 30 was a triumphant moment, that I thought was going to start the new Daniel Bryan-era of the WWE. Instead, it appears that was the career defining win that singled the beginning of the end of Bryan’s career.

At this point, I can only hope that the WWE can take the lessons it learned on Bryan, and apply them to Sami Zayn. I want the end of Wrestlemania 35 to be Zayn standing, in the ring, holding the WWE title, as the confetti falls all around him.

Sasha Banks: An Appreciation

TH with an excellent piece on what makes The BO$$ so special:

> The details are what separate the great wrestlers from the merely good ones. The picture above is only a tip of the iceberg of what Banks puts into her entire act, whether on camera or off. Having a stamp at the ready is something that a flamboyant “urban” wrestler with an inflated ego WOULD have, and it fits her like the long piece fits in a four-line Tetris.

Head over to his site to [see the picture and read the whole thing](http://wallsofjerichoholic.blogspot.com/2015/05/sasha-banks-appreciation.html).
