I have a feeling you do not need this, but here it is, just in case.

After reading far too many Red Sox-related prognostications, I guess it is time to make my Red Sox predictions. Here is what I think will happen with the Red Sox in 2013:
* 90+ wins
* 2nd or 3rd in the A.L. East
* One of the 2 A.L. Wildcards
I know that is extremely optimistic, but, as a Red Sox fan, I think it is possible[^fn1]. Also, some other A.L. East predictions:
* The Rays will win the division
* The Yankees will be worse than normal, but will not finish last in the division
* The Blue Jays will once again prove that “winning the offseason” does not translate into winning the regular season
With that said, I am ready for some baseball.
[^fn1]: I guess we will see how much the “toxic clubhouse” really impacts things.
If the team ends up integrating a lot of young talent, as predicted, then I will be really happy.
Was there really a question about this?
I really want to watch Jackie Bradley at the major league level, but it does not make sense to bring him up and have him lose a year under his Red Sox contract. Give him 20 days in the minors and then bring him up.
Hardball Talk’s 2013 Red Sox Preview
This preview falls into the “they spent too much money for the players they got this offseason” camp. That is a pretty common refrain in a lot of Sox previews. I still am not convinced it is right.
No real surprises here for the Red Sox: Bradley, Iglesias, and Webster. I hope they all have big years[^fn1].
[^fn1]: Obviously.
I hope that taking a little extra time off before the season means that he gets to play most of the season.
My guess is that he has some company.
It has been a tough ride for a kid with such a promising future. I hope he gets to do something that makes him happy, baseball related or not.
I wish him the best and hope he makes a full recovery. That said, I am glad he’s not on the Red Sox anymore.
Like Daniel Poarch, I cannot wait.
In case you’re obsessed like me and want to follow along.
Dustin Pedroia Now on Twitter
I hope [Over the Monster](http://www.overthemonster.com/2013/2/19/4003686/boston-red-sox-dustin-pedroia-on-twitter-life-now-officially-worth-living) is right and that it is really him. This tweet has my hopes up:
> Goodnight I’m on the twitter if u ain’t hustlin ur getting hustled . My teammates will show me tomm how to use this thing . Out
Fingers crossed.
This whole thing made me realize how people who are fans of other teams probably feel about Curt Schilling.
I will believe it when I see it.
Truck Day in Boston
The Red Sox truck is on the way to Fort Myers today. Spring training is just around the corner.
The Red Sox Have to Draft This Guy
Great find by the guys at *Joy of Sox.*
> As long as Napoli’s hip holds up and the Red Sox commit themselves to a full season of Jacoby Ellsbury – no sure thing if they falter early – they should score some runs. And yet for the many positives – Dustin Pedroia is a rock, Ortiz a bopper, – there are still the matters of Gomes and the Green Monster, Will Middlebrooks and the frightening walk rate, and ownership and a mistrustful clubhouse.
This is not my favorite 2013 preview.
