Start the countdown. I am super excited about this.

> On Saturday Afternoon, August 15, Disney Parks and Resorts wil host a presentation of what’s coming to Disney’s theme parks, hosted by new Parks Chairman Bob Chapek. The last D23 Expo did not have a Parks and Resorts presentatio, so fans can expect some new excitement this year.
Time for the rumor mill to really pick up.
Really interesting stuff. I’m not surprised at all that the Mine Train is pretty much a “no go” for day-of Fastpass+ on nearly all days, but I was surprised you can get Toy Story Midway Mania on days with crowd levels 8 and below.
Bummer. It sounds like Disney has a lot of work to do on this pre-ordering process.
Sigh. I am going to be really bummed when 24 hour day happens and Elyssa and I are not there.
> Guests attending Star Wars Weekends will be able to find shelter and sustenance in the Rebel Hangar: A Star Wars Lounge Experience. Reports have been made that this location was once a known hangout of Rebel pilots, aliens and smugglers; with the immersive environment and stellar bites—I understand why!
This looks like a total *splurge* type of thing, but I bet Elyssa and I would do it. I mean, they have “Lightsaber Bites” (which are corn dogs). How could we say no?
I feel like this has been rumored since the idea of “spin-off” movies was first announced a couple of years ago.
These types of situations are why I left my career as a software engineer. In 5 years, I worked in 4 different places, and saw these types of layoffs 3 times (and apparently, just missed another one.) I never was one of the ones laid off, but having to deal with the constant threat of it was enough to get me to move on from a career I did really enjoy.
Did Josh Trank leave a Star Wars movie, or [get fired as the Red Sox manager](http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7091109/report-terry-francona-pain-meds-use-alarmed-boston-red-sox)?
This is really cool. I’m happy to see Animal Kingdom evolving like this.
This has been *all over* the Internet today. Good luck getting Disney’s website to work while people rush to make their reservations.
This could pave the way for a Star Wars-theme race weekend, but I think such a race might still be a couple years out.
I am still really bummed that Elyssa and I won’t be there for this.
I know that I’m a sucker for any clip featuring Walt, but this little video feature really makes me think that I am going to love *Tomorrowland.*
If you have been on the fence about watching *Daredevil*, take a few minutes and watch this scene. It is a signature scene from an excellent show.
*TouringPlans* blogger Derek Burgan shares 6 “unique” dining experiences at Disney World. It’s a little weird that he goes for a dinner show in his number one spot, but, otherwise, it’s a pretty interesting list. My one critique would be that it should have included some specific recommendations about the various restaurants (*e.g.*, go to Sanaa for a late lunch, go to Sci-Fi Dine-In when it’s offering Star Wars Character meals, etc…)
This was SOOOOO GOOOD.
The guys at Jambo Everyone has a nice little preview of what might be coming for a night time version of Kilimanjaro Safaris. I think I would love this.
It’s still a bummer that Elyssa and I won’t be down there for this.
> The upscale menu focuses on seafood and steaks, upscale cocktails and a solid wine list. You can get anything from a casual basket of fried clams or big butterflied shrimp to “the best Angus beef burgers in town,” says Chef Bob. (And the fries are hand cut.)
With prices of some of the items on the menu, *upscale* definitely seems to be the word of the day. Depending on the various reviews, maybe Elyssa and I will give it a shot during one of our trips later this year.
