Snow White meet and greet on the move again at the Magic Kingdom

Poor Snow. Can’t they just give her a home and let her stay there?[^f1042].

[^f1042]: I have developed a newfound appreciation for Snow (yes, I call her Snow) after my most recent trip to the world. Elyssa and I ended up having great interactions with all the “Snows” that we met.

Theme Park Tourist breaks down 5 Surprisingly Low-Tech Effects Used in Famous Disney Theme Park Rides

I was most interested in the Great Hall in the Haunted Mansion:

> This is one of the most famous Disney effects of all, but the company didn’t invent the technique. In fact, the “Pepper’s Ghost” illusion is based on a term coined in the 1800s by a professor of chemistry at the London Polytechnic Institure.

> The ghosts that you see dancing and celebrating in the Grand Hall are actually animatronic figures in black rooms above and below the mezzanine that your Doom Buggy is on. There is a gigantic pane of glass between the riders and the Grand Hall. A light source shines on the animatronics below, which reflects them off of the glass and makes it appear as though they’re actually in the Grand Hall.

Elsa appearance teased on Once Upon a Time

I have never seen *Once Upon a Time*, but I heard rumblings today that they that they teased an appearance of Elsa on the finale last night. I managed to find a clip on Youtube (linked), but I imagine that will be pulled before too long.

Though I am not sure this will make me watch the show, I have to Disney credit for bring her to the show so quickly.

FastPass+ Only Character Meet and Greet Opportunities

I have no problem with the concept of Fastpass+ only Meet and Greets, but I think it’s ridiculous to make them Tier 1 attractions.

*UPDATE: Looks like [Disney has changed its plans on Fastpass+ only Meet and Greets](http://blog.touringplans.com/2014/05/12/update-fastpass-meet-greets-walt-disney-world/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=update-fastpass-meet-greets-walt-disney-world)*

Josh at EasyWDW shows what it is like to try and Visit Anna & Elsa

Waits first thing in the morning are going to be three to four hours. You’ll see similar posted waits later in the day, but they are exaggerated, to the point where the wait around 1pm will actually be around 90 to 120 minutes, even if the posted wait doesn’t come down.

This is insane. I thought visiting Anna & Elsa at rope drop would be no problem. I was very, very wrong,

Summary of Upcoming Fastpass+ Changes

It is almost exactly what was rumored a few weeks ago: You can now use a kiosk to make an additional Fastpass+ reservation *after* you have used your other three reservations.

I think this is a solid first step, and, hopefully, is just a stop gap until you can use the various MyDisney apps to make the additional selections.

Big Name Restaurants May Be Headed to Disney Springs

I used to spend 2-3 nights per trip at Downtown Disney. On our upcoming honeymoon, I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t stop there at all. I hope the completion of Disney Springs makes it a “must stop” location once again.

How FastPass+ is Affecting Wait Times at Disney World Attractions

Josh from EasyWDW breaks down the numbers:

Overall, FP+ is causing wait times to increase at most secondary attractions, while having a less substantial impact at the most popular attractions with the longest wait times.

That seems about right. People who never would use a Fastpass on a given attraction are now being forced to select 3 attractions a day, causing those extra attractions to get long waits. Hopefully, the next phase of Fastpass+ can help alleviate this problem.

Frozen characters Elsa and Anna arrive at Princess Fairytale Hall and already waits are over 2 and a half hours

If you want to see Anna and Elyssa over the next few months, I recommend you either (1) get a Fastpass+ for their meet and greet, or (2) be there right at rope drop and visit them first.

Disney Springs development to bring massive expansion to Buena Vista Drive

> To handle the increased amount of traffic in the area, the road will be expanded to 10 lanes and will be equipped with a dedicated bus lane. Two pedestrian bridges will also be built, allowing easy crossing of Buena Vista Drive.

Even before Disney Springs was announced, this was long overdue.
