If you’re looking for a way to add notifications for [App.net](http://alpha.app.net) in Mountain Lion, this [github project](https://github.com/jyopp/app-dot-notify) does the trick. I downloaded the code directly from there, however, there is a [compiled version](http://www.ibackedappdotnet.com/downloads/AppDotNotify.app.zip) out now. I have not tested the compiled version, but the version from github works quite well.
