The guys at Jambo Everyone has a nice little preview of what might be coming for a night time version of Kilimanjaro Safaris. I think I would love this.
Month: April 2015
This was the only thing good about the Red Sox game this afternoon.
Marvel Unlimited is such a good way to catch up on older comics, and they seem to keep making it better.
Sometimes, I forget just how great it’s been to be a Boston sports fan these past few years.
My Current Queue of “Business” Books
Since about day two at my first job working in a “company”, I have had that itch to start something of my own. At the moment, [Kivus & Camera](http://kivusandcamera.com) is mostly satisfying that need. Still, I do like to read about “business” related topics now and again. Here is my current reading queue:
* [Creativity, Inc.: Overcoming the Unseen Forces That Stand in the Way of True Inspiration](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FUZQYBO/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00FUZQYBO&linkCode=as2&tag=johkiv-20&linkId=BDW5EW4P34NVJOWX) by Ed Catmull (*i.e.*, the Pixar Book);[^f1123].
* [Overwhelmed: Work, Love, and Play When No One Has the Time
](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EX0XYU6/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00EX0XYU6&linkCode=as2&tag=johkiv-20&linkId=NFH5DR6HBD7NTJ3D) by Brigid Schulte;
* [Competition Demystified: A Radically Simplified Approach to Business Strategy](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QUEHKS/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000QUEHKS&linkCode=as2&tag=johkiv-20&linkId=LWZECBDMZQZ6RTHK) by Bruce C. Greenwald; and
* [The Hard Thing About Hard Things: Building a Business When There Are No Easy Answers](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DQ845EA/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00DQ845EA&linkCode=as2&tag=johkiv-20&linkId=SVG56ZTQSILKDSTP) by Ben Horowitz

The Lighting Hands of Mookie Betts
Owen Watson, writing at *Fangraphs:*
> That highlights the trickiness inherent to pitching to Betts: he doesn’t have many glaring holes in his swing and doesn’t chase a lot of bad pitches. Try to bust him inside, and he can drive the ball, even when it’s on the black; try to get him to chase outside, and he’ll take his walks.
It is really hard to keep myself from getting wwwwaaayyyy too excited about Mookie.
Clemson’s Deshaun Watson not rushing rehab
Good. I don’t want to see him rush back and hurt himself again.
It was pretty awesome to watch. I hope Mookie can keep it up all season.
Marcus Paige is Returning
I didn’t really think there was a chance he would go to the NBA, but I am glad this is official.
It’s still a bummer that Elyssa and I won’t be down there for this.
> The upscale menu focuses on seafood and steaks, upscale cocktails and a solid wine list. You can get anything from a casual basket of fried clams or big butterflied shrimp to “the best Angus beef burgers in town,” says Chef Bob. (And the fries are hand cut.)
With prices of some of the items on the menu, *upscale* definitely seems to be the word of the day. Depending on the various reviews, maybe Elyssa and I will give it a shot during one of our trips later this year.
The New Ant-Man Trailer Goes Live
I am really excited for this. My biggest worry is that I am going to set my expectations unreasonably high.
I’m a huge fan of Mickey in his baseball uniform.
Kind of a bummer if this is why AJ decided to hang it up.
I am so pumped that Rucka is so heavily involved with the various Star Wars Ep. 7 prequel stuff.
Might as well put the dates for the live specials on your calendar right now:
* May 20
* August 12
* October 7
All it took was one segment at this year’s Wrestlemania, and I’m completely hyped for a Ronda Rousey run in the WWE.
This is pretty awesome.
Seeing plays like this kind of makes me miss the days of Joe Iglesias playing shortstop for the Sox.
Here’s my answer to *With Spandex*’s question about what we want from the Divas Division:
* 10+ minute matches on RAW each week featuring Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Paige, Bailey, etc…;
* 20+ minute matches on PPVs featuring the same stars;
* Storylines beyond “she’s crazy”; and
* The fans to start really getting excited for Divas.
Then again, I probably could just sum things up by saying “ALL THE SASHA BANKS.”
