Jason Horn is one of the nicest guys I have ever met at a comic convention, and Elyssa and I have some of his work hanging on our wall. I also strongly suggest you check out his [Ninjasaur](http://ninjasaur.com/n/) online comic.
Month: August 2014
Finally. I much needed upgraded.
Yes! Yes! Yes![^note]
[^note]: Okay, he will require an elbow surgery, but that is better than a neck surgery.

Jenny Dell does the Ice Bucket Challenge
Remember when Jenny Dell reported from Red Sox games? Remember when the Red Sox won the World Series? Good times. Now, we are left with just [this](http://www.survivinggrady.com/2014/08/ice-bucket-challenge-need.html).
This excellent guide to *TextExpander* has been heavily linked to recently. Take a few minutes to dig into all the information available in this post, and you’ll see why.
What does it say about Clemson?
> So monstrous do the Seminoles appear heading into 2014 that we have to go straight into addressing Clemson, whose existence at the moment seems unfairly defined by the gulf separating it from the top team in the division. Florida State looks so good right now that, just for a minute, it feels profoundly unfair to Clemson’s very fine football team. (That minute ends when reminded that it is not, after all, called feelingsball, and that an Orange Bowl victory is both a lovely consolation prize and a refreshing grudge victory against the Orange Bowl itself.) Last year’s meeting between the Atlantic Division’s top teams was the most brutal dispatching we’d ever seen in real life. This year’s Clemson squad travels to Tallahassee in Week 4, sans NFLers Tajh Boyd, Sammy Watkins, and Martavis Bryant. Things could get gross.
This could be another one of those years where Clemson seems decent but then gets crushed by FSU, and, unfortunately, South Carolina.
Interesting. It is not exactly the type of team-up I would expect, but I am interested in seeing what Simone can do.
I am glad [Lens Rentals US](http://lensrentals.com) isn’t having any issues. I use them all the time.
This story is so, so good. If you are a photographer, take a few minutes and give it a listen.
> Sony’s A7s has a lot going for it. In today’s world, everyone wants amazing high ISO abilities–and the A7s delivers on this and then some. But in the method that Sony took, we dare to say that it’s too good. There comes a certain point where a still photo taken doesn’t need the have a super high ISO. However, it could totally change the way that you shoot.
This camera is still at the top of my gear lust list.
Speaking of Mike Mignola, it appears he is going to be doing a new Hellboy and BPRD series with Alex Maleev. Sign me up.
A good, and updated, resource for people who are trying to decide which Disney resort to stay at.
A great tip from David Sparks about a TextExpander trick that I have been using for years.
A Mike Mignola *Toy Story* poster? Are you kidding me? Where can I buy one of these?
Congratulations to a local, Durham developer for being involved with such a highly publicized app. I always like hearing about local companies like Two Toasters doing well.
I am excited about all of the Star Wars comics, but I think I might be the most excited about this one.
These types of after hours events are going to keep popping up at Disney World. Clearly, the existing options have been successes.
I have never read these books, but Elyssa loves them. There is a pretty good chance I read at least one before any of the films come out.
