→ Mike Maihack’s Take on the New Batgirl

The master of adorable Batgirl comics puts his spin on the new Batgirl.1

  1. SPOILER: It’s awesome.

→ Vertigo announces The Kitchen by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle — The Beat

Ming has put herself on the “I buy everything he / she draws” list.

→ Vertical Panos Beat Wide Lenses

This is my personal reminder to take more vertical panos.

→ First Peek at Trattoria al Forno, New Restaurant for Disney’s BoardWalk

It looks like Disney is replacing Kouzzina with an italian place. Interesting choice, especially with Via Napoli right around the corner in Epcot.

→ 30% Passholder discount now available at Spice Road Table through September 17

I wish they had this in place when Elyssa and I were visiting. It might have been enough to get us to give their food a shot.

→ Deborah Ann Woll Cast as Karen Page in Marvel & Netflix’s “Daredevil”

Interesting casting choice. I do really like Deborah Ann as an actress, though it will be weird to see her if she ends up going blonde with her hair.

→ Jackie Bradley Jr. throws ball over outfield wall from home plate

It might have taken the equivalent of a full season in the majors, but Jackie Bradley is really starting to shine.

→ Karen Gillan as Nebula Poster

She looks pretty awesome.

→ Chris Samnee’s take on the new Batgirl

Unsurprisingly, it looks awesome.

→ Guardians of the Galaxy: Gamora Profile

I am cautiously optimistic that they are going to really nail Gamora’s personality in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

→ Taking a Look at the ISO Performance of Recent and Popular Cameras

The gang over at Imaging Resource has no problem printing an image from a Sony a60001 shot at 6400 ISO at 8″x10″ sizes. Not too shabby.

  1. My current camera of choice.

→ Adobe Quietly Allays a Big Creative Cloud Concern in Lightroom 5.5

Great move by Adobe. Now, if your subscription runs out, you can still pretty much use all all non-develop module parts of Lightroom to manage, print or export your photo collection.

→ Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletch, and Babs Tarr take over Batgirl

Elyssa and I met Babs while were were at HeroesCon, and she could not have been nicer. We are really looking forward to what she is going to do on this book.

→ Breakfast at Kouzzina – One Last Look

I am going to miss this place when it closes (on my birthday!)

→ Brandon Routh cast as The Atom in Arrow

I love that they are developing rich world of superheroes over in the “Arrow-verse.”

→ Gotham might have a different Joker Teaser Every Week

Basically, every episode in the first season will introduce a character that might be a future Joker, each emphasising aspects of the character’s iconography, a card sharp, a flower seller, a clown, or just a guy with a very big grin.

Do you want to hear how I got these scars?1

  1. Of course, I think this is a brilliant move by the people behind Gotham. Keeping the Joker’s backstory a mystery is always a good idea.

→ Giancarlo Stanton smashes a 510-foot homer into Target Field’s upper deck

Stanton does horrible, horrible things to baseballs. Relatedly, he would like really good in a Red Sox uniform.

→ Dealing with the “2014 Versions” of Creative Cloud

If you recently upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud, you might see a new “2014” version of some of your applications. Terry White explains how to best deal with that situation.

→ “Once Upon a Time” casts its Anna and Kristoff

Speaking of Frozen, it looks like Disney has started casting the Frozen characters for Once upon a Time. I still wonder who they are going to get as Elsa, though.

→ What if Frozen was more like Game of Thrones – Trailer

This is pretty awesome.
