Poster Updated for iOS 7

Federico has the news:

To my surprise, the app – which was pulled from the App Store after the acquisition – has been updated to version 3.0 this week, adding iOS 7 compatibility and fixes. There are no new notable additions, but the entire Poster UI has been updated for iOS 7 and there is a new line height option in the preview menu; Witkin got rid of textures and iOS 6-style buttons, adding subtle animations for navigation and other menus. It's still the same Poster, only with an iOS 7 interface and less crashes.

However, the bad news is that, because the app isn't available on the App Store anymore, only old customers can download the updated version. If you bought Poster in the past, open the App Store, find the Purchased section, and look for Poster; tap Open/Download, and the app should be reinstalled with the new version 3.0 that Witkin made for iOS 7.

Talk about a cool, unexpected, surprise.

Problems with iOS 7’s Control Center

Dr. Drang is having the same problem I have been having:

> I’ve been having a small but persistent audio problem that can be really annoying. Every few days, the audio controls in the Control Center stop working. Play/pause, volume, skip—none of them work. In and of itself, this doesn’t bother me much because I don’t use CC’s audio controls very often, but the bug goes hand-in-hand with another problem that bothers the hell out of me.

It is a pain in the butt[^fn1] and it seems like the only way you can fix it is restart your phone.

[^fn1]: It is especially frustrating when you are driving.

Quick Tips for Instacast 4 – Vemedio

Some cool tips for the new version of [Instacast 4](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/instacast-4-podcast-client/id577056377?mt=8&at=10l5TL)[^fn1]. My personal favorite:

> With Instacast 4 you can now import individual episodes from the directory without subscribing the whole podcast. To do that, load the directory preview of the podcast, scroll down and tap on a particular episode. Next, choose “Import” from the action menu. Individual episodes get imported into a list called “Imported Episodes”.

Also, background downloading of podcast episodes is amazing. I am not sure how I lived without this feature before.

Michael Tsai asks some really good questions about Apple allowing you to download old app versions from the app store. It will be interesting to see how some of these play out.

Okay, I admit it: I am linking to this almost solely because the animated GIF he used is *amazing.*
